Papakostas Achilleas

Born in Athens in 1970. He studied alternatively at the School of Fine Arts in Thessaloniki (1988-1989) and Athens (1989-1995), under P.Tetsis and R. Papaspirou. He continued his studies in Paris, at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-arts (1996-98) under Μ.V. Velickovic after receiving a scholarship from the Onassis Foundation. He has received many awards in Greece(1995: 1st Award in the Spiropoulos Institute Contest for New Artists, 1998: Melina Merkouri Award, 2004: National Academy award) as well as in France (1997: Grand Prix at the Paul-Louis Weiller contest organized by the Institut de France).
