Born in Bergara, Spain in 1955. From 1975 to 1988 he lived and worked in Paris where he studied painting at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts. He is professor of Pictorial Techniques at the School of Fine Arts of the Basque country. Since 2003 he has lived and worked in Bakio (Vizcaya).
