Kapralos Christos

Born in Agrinio in 1909 and deceased in 1993 in Athens. Between 1929-1934, he studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts under professor U. Argiros while from 1934 to 1940 he studied sculpture in Paris, alternatively at the Grande Chaumiere and Colarossi academies, under professor M. Gimond. In 1946 he returned in Athens. He is one of the most internationally acknowledged Greek sculptors. In 1962 he represented Greece in Venice Biennale while in 1998 he received the Gottfried von Herder award.
