Lappas Giorgos

He was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1950. Initially, he studied Clinical Psychology and worked for several research programs in various mental institutions in the United States. In 1974, he received the Watson scholarship and travelled to India where he studies Indian sculpture and architecture. In 1975 he goes to London where he studies architecture. From 1977 to 1982 he studies sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts in the studios of Pappas and Nicolaides. He receives a scholarship from the French Government and studies sculpture in Paris, at the Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts. In 1991 he received the Fondation Cartier award. Since 1992 he lives in Athens and teaches at the School of Fine Arts. He passed away in 2016.
