Christoforou John

(March 10, 1921-February 2014) Born in London. In 1935 he attended courses at the Athens School of Fine Arts. He returned to England in 1938, where after the war he devoted himself to painting. His first solo show was at London in 1949. In 1965 in London he was awarded the ICA award. He is considered one of forerunners of the movement known as “New Figuration”. He lived and worked in Paris from 1956, until his death in February 2014.
