Kypraios Vassilis

Born 1936 in Athens. Studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1958-62, under Moralis). Worked as an assistant in theFaculty of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens 1966-8 and 1974-9. His first individual exhibition in the Athens Art Gallery in 1964 was followed by a further 13, in Athens, Thessaloniki, Larissa, and Milan. Has shown work in more than 35 group exhibitions in Greece and Europe, most notably the Panhellenic exhibitions (1961, 1965, 1967) and the Paris Biennale (1965) and Alexandria Biennale (1966). Received first prize at the international Jeunes peintres du monde in Paris in 1961, and at the 1st and 2nd Panhellenic Exhibition of Young Artists in Athens (1961 and 1962). Since the early 1980s has lived and worked in Athens and in Hora on Patmos.
